Bret Michaels Misses His Mark
Bret Michaels Misses His Mark Last night Poison had the "honor" of performing at the Tony Awards in Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The band was concluding its performance of "Nothin' But a Good Time," when the set began transitioning to the next segment of the show. According to Christina Stejskal, a Tony Awards spokesperson, Bret Michaels "missed his mark." Well, the rest is history. See the video embedded below.

Feel Good about Buying Tickets from a Reseller
Feel Good about Buying Tickets from a Reseller Tickets-for-Charity is a ticker reseller which takes the premiums usually paid to secondary market companies and donates the proceeds to charity. All tickets are sold at face value with an option to donate. The idea of being free to donate as much as one is able makes a potential customer more inclined to spend more on the tickets, and the strategy has worked. The organization has already raised more than $3 million prior to its launch.

Tickets-for-Charity is currently selling tickets for some of your favorite tours this summer, including Coldplay, Kenny Chesney, Creed, Billy Joel, and Elton John. So please check out TicketsforCharity.com to show your support!

Maximum Markup on NY Tickets Temporarily Decreased
Maximum Markup on NY Tickets Temporarily Decreased Legislators from the state of New York missed a deadline to renew a law which eliminated the price cap for scalped tickets. Currently, law states that the maximum markup on a resold ticket is $2. Efforts are currently being made to negotiate a new law.

It is unlikely that this law will be enforced at all, but hopefully someone might be able to use this information to their advantage.

The governor's office stated that new legislature will be reviewed once it has reached the governor's desk.

Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction Finding a Heart
Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction Finding a Heart Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction are touring for a cause this summer. The bands are attempting to raise money for a fan, Eric De La Cruz, who is in need of a heart transplant. The bands have offered VIP tour tickets, signed albums, photos, etc. in order to raise money. According to the Nine Inch Nails website, the band has assisted in raising more than $850,000.

JanesAddiction.com is offering the following opportunity. “Before every show, we regularly warm up in an intimate style set-up backstage together. For $1,000, we’d like to offer 10 guests per show the opportunity to sit in us, hang out, and witness the JA preshow experience. In addition to the backstage hang and autograph signing, you will have the chance to watch our set from the side of the stage if you’d like.” More about the effort can be read at TheLifegiverProject.org, the organization setup for De La Cruz by Veronica De La Cruz, his sister and an CNN correspondent.

So if you are a NIN, Jane's Addicition, or Veronica De La Cruz fan, or not, help the cause.

Live Nation Really Meant No ‘Service Fees’
Live Nation Really Meant No ‘Service Fees’ The Fee-Free Wednesday promotion by Live Nation on many amphitheater tickets being sold this summer is apparently not as glorious as some thought it would be. While the service fees on tickets are being removed every Wednesday on select tickets, you can still expect to pay other fees like parking, even if you do not plan on driving yourself to the show. Many assumed that these fees would also be removed, but apparently Live Nation really meant no 'service fees.'

Regardless of any disappointment experienced by those purchasing tickets on the first no-fee Wednesday, June 3, Live Nation representatives reported that it was still the largest single day sale in the company's history. Hopefully this will mean more dance parties for those of you seating in the lawn. [See this post.]
